Sifu Paul Resnick

Sifu Paul Resnick is the founder of Martial Mind Mastery. As a Certified Transformation Coach, 5th Degree Wing Chun Kung Fu Black Belt Master, and Tai Chi Teacher, he brings over 40 years of martial arts expertise and more than 25 years of coaching, teaching, and guiding individuals on their path of personal transformation.

His work is dedicated to helping people master their inner world—gaining control over thoughts, emotions, actions, and habits—so they can live with clarity, purpose, and authentic authority.

Over the years, this journey has increasingly led him deeper into the practice and teaching of Tai Chi.

A Return to Balance

There was a time when I believed strength meant pushing harder. Doing more. Thinking more. Fighting through whatever life placed in front of me.

But like it does for many people, that approach eventually stopped working.

The mind became louder. The body more tense. Stress slowly crept in, until it was impossible to ignore.

Tai Chi entered my life not as something to achieve, but as a way to return.

Return to balance.
To harmony.
To a quieter mind and a more grounded body.

What began as a practice became a way of living.

My Journey

From a young age, I was fascinated by human behavior. Why we think the way we do, why we do what we do, or don’t do… Why some people thrive while others struggle, and what truly creates a meaningful life.

Martial arts became my first path into these questions.

Later in life, I became a father of two boys, an experience that taught me more about love, patience, responsibility, and priorities than anything else. Today, I am deeply proud of the men they have become and the bond we still share.

Alongside this, I built a successful corporate career, running a market research company in Amsterdam with over 40 employees. This gave me deep insight into people, communication, leadership, and the impact of stress on individuals and teams.

Externally, life looked successful.

Internally, it was a different story.

The Turning Point

In my late thirties, life brought a series of profound challenges.

A divorce while raising two young children.
The loss of a close friend to cancer.
And later, the tragic loss of a partner.

It was a period often described as the “Dark Night of the Soul.”

I felt lost. Overwhelmed. As if I had lost my mind.

But when you hit the bottom, there is a choice.

Go further down… or rise.

I chose to rise.

And in losing my mind, I eventually found myself.

From Force to Flow

That turning point marked the beginning of a deeper journey, not just in martial arts, but in understanding the mind, emotions, and the nature of life itself.

Over time, this path led me to Tai Chi.

Where martial arts had once been about strength, discipline, and structure, Tai Chi revealed something else:

Softness.
Awareness.
Flow.

It taught me that true strength is not found in force, but in balance.

Not in resistance, but in alignment.

Not in controlling life, but rather in learning to move with it.

Like water.

What Tai Chi Teaches

Tai Chi is often seen as slow movement.

But beneath that simplicity lies something profound.

Through practice, you begin to:

  • Notice your body
  • Feel your breath
  • Become aware of your thoughts and emotions

And without forcing anything, everything begins to settle.

You experience:

Inner Peace
Not because life becomes quiet, but because you do.

Balance and Grounding
Remaining centered, even when life moves fast around you.

Harmony
Where mind, body, and breath begin working together instead of pulling apart.

Health and Vitality
Tension releases, breathing deepens, and energy returns naturally.

The Deeper Lesson

Tai Chi is built on a simple yet powerful principle:

Do not fight what is. Learn to move with it.

Stress is not only something that happens to us, it is something we create internally.

Tai Chi allows you to feel that directly… and let it go.

It is not about becoming someone new.

It is about returning to who you already are, before the noise.

Sharing the Practice

Over the past 25 years, I have had the privilege of teaching and guiding thousands of students, from children to professionals, leaders, athletes, and individuals seeking more peace, clarity, and meaning in their lives.

Today, my focus is to share Tai Chi not just as a physical practice, but as a path to self-mastery, balance, and inner peace.

Alongside my work, I continue to teach in person as Chief Instructor and Program Director at IWKA Schools of Kung Fu in Amsterdam, and support students worldwide.

Living the Path

As a father, teacher, and lifelong student, I now live a life more aligned than ever before, grounded in balance, harmony, and continuous growth.

The values I strive to live by each day are simple:

Gratitude. Compassion. Love. Peace. Forgiveness.

Tai Chi is no longer something I practice.

It is how I live.

And it is my intention to help others experience the same: finding calm within, clarity in life, and strength through calmness.

Final Reflection

Most people spend their lives searching for something outside themselves.

More success.
More certainty.
More control.

Tai Chi quietly points in a different direction.

Slow down.
Come back.
Feel what is already here.

Because what you are looking for—peace, balance, clarity—

has never been missing.

It has simply been covered by noise.

Tai Chi helps you remove that noise.

And in that space…

you return to yourself.
